How to Root Gionee M2

Gionee M2's processor is MT6582 1.3 GHz quad core which is fast replacing last generation MT6589 series in budget quad core segment. The low cost chipset is a decent performer and is assisted by 1 GB internal storage and Mali 400 MP2 GPU. 

The battery capacity is ample 4200 mAh which according to Gionee will offer you 555 hours of standby time and up to 24 hours of talk time on 3G. The battery capacity is the USP of this phone which differentiates it from the other quad core crowd. The USB OTG support lets you use this phone as a battery bank to charge other devices as well.




Step-by-Step Procedure of Rooting

Step 1: Download and install Gionee M2 USB Driver on your Windows Computer.


Step 2: Enable USB Debugging on your Gionee M2 Smartphone. To enable USB Debugging: Open Settings > Developers Option > USB Debugging > Tick to enable.
(Developers Option is hidden for Android 4.2.2 or above, to unhide Go to Settings > About Phone > Built Number (Tap on it for 5-8 times).

Step 3: Download and install vRoot application on your Windows Computer.

Step 4: Once vRoot Application is installed on your Computer, Open It.

Step 5: Once vRoot Application is launched, connect your Gionee M2 Smartphone to the computer.

Step 6: Once Your Smartphone is connected successfully to the computer, vRoot Application will automatically detect your Smartphone.

Step 7: Now, Click on the “Root” button to begin the rooting process.

Step 8: Now, vRoot Application will automatically “Reboot” your Smartphone and install the SuperSU Application.

Step 9: Now your Gionee M2 is Rooted. To check whether your phone is rooted correctly, open Applications Menu, there you will be able to see a new app installed, called SuperSU. If this app exist then it means you have successfully rooted your device.

Optional: You can also verify that your device is successfully rooted or not by Root Checker Application.
